Both of these titles in the Holiday Histories series are flawed, but there's so little information on the subjects for the age group they may be useful until something better comes along. Earth Day begins confusingly: nine planets "circle around our sun" and the "third one" is Earth. The next spread discusses how there was no Earth Day when "your grandparents were born." Then, the book goes back in time, thousands of years. More focused is the discussion of how limited resources and a demand for goods resulted in plundering the planet. Pollution is covered, as are endangered species. The book closes with the founding of Earth Day, how it is celebrated, and the new laws passed to help Earth. Election Day has a picture of FDR on the cover, a president not likely to be recogn

That way the preschooler can enjoy the book in the days leading up to Christmas. I am a Mafia fan, and read any thing I can about them, this book is all I hoped it would be,,
it is well written,and I am enjoying reading it.. Taylor clearly had an intuitive grasp of worker psychology, which he did not formalize and which thus was not present in the brief summaries of Taylor I had learned.

So if you're one of the few people who is (a) interested in Taylor's work but (b) not sure it's worth the time to actually read Taylor, instead of simply relying on textbook summaries, I would like to urge you to pick it up. Instead, we focused on the Suez Canal. The presentation of the material isn’t even unique. I am a 58 year old professional musician. Harper just tossed that aside.
