The writing is very clear and an "enjoyable read". He gives pertinent information and keeps the reader engaged without boredom or using a "dumbing down" approach. It is written in such a way as to keep the reader personally engaged and spurred to actively listen to music, and not just as a list of musical history. I especially like the references to popular culture and feel they help the reader make relevant connections from historical and factual information to recent and current trends in music. That's not all it included, however--the author also included information on different types of herbal medicine (capsules, ointment, teas) as well as how to go about starting your own herbal garden, which is both rewarding and useful.
What I really liked reading through was the section on essential remedies that every home should have. This book has really opened my eyes to see that not all of the problems I've had in relationships have stemmed from me being insecure.
